What is the current release window?

Q1 2027 is the current Steam window. It means January–March 2027, not a specific day in January. The Steam store page still marks the game as upcoming. Do not infer an exact release date, a midnight unlock time or a countdown from that quarter.

This page was checked on October 13, 2026. Older announcement coverage mentions Fall 2026. The current store field is the more recent planning reference; retaining both dates without explaining their context would mislead readers. We have not inferred a reason for the schedule change.

Can you play before the full release?

The official live announcement gives October 12–25, 2026 for the open Chapter One test. Request access through Steam. That is a limited public test of part of the game, rather than confirmation that the full adventure has launched or that a demo will remain downloadable forever.

Which platforms have official evidence?

An Xbox product listing is stronger evidence than a fan prediction, but it is not proof that every version launches simultaneously. Likewise, an absence of a PS5 or Switch announcement in this review is not a cancellation notice. We will update the table when the publisher provides a specific announcement.

Is this the same game as Outcry?

The upcoming title is a reimagining of the 2008 original, also known as Outcry. Its familiar name makes search results easy to mix up. The edition comparison explains the new 3D exploration and why a date or walkthrough attached to the original does not describe this release.

If you want help with the current test, use the puzzle index. A “complete walkthrough” of the older game is not evidence that the unreleased reimagining has already been finished.

What should you watch for next?

Watch the Steam release field and the publisher’s news feed for an exact date, test-access changes and platform-specific announcements. We distinguish a confirmed day from a quarter and a store listing from a dated launch announcement. If you spot a newer primary source, send its link through Contact; a search snippet alone is not enough to replace the current record.
